BIC Open Planning, Amsterdam

July 2011: BIC open planning session, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 6 July 2011

BIC organised an open planning session during the SysSec workshop on 6th July 2011 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The objectives of the BIC planning session were:

  • Address the general question of the scope and priorities, and initial planning considerations for international collaboration on R&D towards trustworthy ICT.
  • Explore Frameworks for Data Sharing, as a specific enabler for collective defence and response to cyber-attack.
  • Prepare the ground for the extended BIC annual forum being planned for Quarter 4 2011;
  • Further clarify scope for international collaboration on cyber-security;
    Progress the Secure International Data Exchange Architecture for Cybersecurity, introduced at the May, 2010 workshop to explore the technical and organisational requirements and constraints.

In addition to planning the project’s annual forum to be held in Q4 2011, a report was generated, which led to a paper on the outcome of the session being accepted by the programme committee of the annual Information Security Systems Europe (ISSE) 2011 conference held during 22-23rd November 2011 in Prague, Czech Republic. A full report of the session can be found here.
