High level conference on the EU Cybersecurity Strategy – 28 February 2014, Brussels

A high-level conference in Brussels to present the progress achieved in the year after the publication of the EU Cybersecurity Strategy, is being held on 28th February, 2014.

This one-day Conference is organised by the European Commission, in cooperation with the European External Action Service.

Ms Neelie Kroes, Commission Vice-President for the Digital Agenda and Mr Maciej Popowski, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service, will introduce the Conference.

In the EU Cybersecurity Strategy (JOIN(2013) 1 final), the Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy announced they will gather all relevant parties in a High-level Conference and assess progress in 12 months from the adoption of the Strategy. The Conference will provide information on the state of play of the implementation of the five main priorities of the Strategy and showcase highlights of the main actions in the Strategy.

The Conference will also represent an opportunity to explore the way forward regarding the Commission proposal for a Directive laying down measures to ensure a high level of network and information security across the Union and the next steps to foster trust in the public and private sector for the benefit of citizens and the Digital Single Market.

The Conference is open to all interested parties who wish to join. Please note that the Commission will not reimburse travel and accommodations expenses.
